Lianne JM Boer is Assistant Professor of Transnational Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Research Fellow at the Centre for the Politics of Transnational Law at the same institution. Her PhD, which she was awarded in April 2017 (cum laude), dealt with the (socio)linguistics of knowledge construction in international legal scholarship. Currently, she is working on a project which focuses on international legal scholarship as a collection of stories, starring international law as the main character. She was previously a visiting PhD scholar at Lund University as well as at the University of Cambridge. She teaches public international law at both LLB and LLM level, as well as an LLM course titled The Politics of International Law. Her recent publications include an edited volume with Sofia Stolk, called Backstage Practices of Transnational Law (Routledge Research in International Law Series).
